Why It’s Safe for You to Go Back to the Dentist after Covid-19
Here at Pauly Dental Group, the safety and health of Wichita families is our number one concern. We know that many of you are nervous about visiting a dental or medical office during the Coronavirus pandemic. However, we’ve made our office even safer than before, and we’re booking appointments. Dental care is essential for your whole-body health. Don’t let worries about COVID-19 put your family on the road to long-term health issues that could have been prevented with regular dental appointments!
Studies Say the Dental Office is Low Risk
Researchers have found that dental teams are extremely unlikely to have or spread COVID-19. Even though our offices are on the frontlines of patient care, in surveillance studies fewer than one percent of dental employees have had COVID, or even COVID symptoms in the 60 days studied. Dental offices haven't been linked to COVID-19 spread at all.
Why are offices so safe? And why were they so safe even early in the pandemic? It’s because we’ve always been focused on preventing the spread of disease in our office. Even in a normal year, we want to ensure that our teams and patients don’t spread diseases like the flu or norovirus. We’re obsessive about disinfecting and source control. We have good filtration and ventilation systems. We want you to leave us healthier than you arrived.
Even Safer than Before
With COVID-19, we took our safety protocols to new, even higher, levels.
- Our team is wearing more PPE these days. We know you miss our smiling faces, but we want to protect our most vulnerable patients. And that means ensuring that all our team members are masked, shielded, gloved, and gowned to ADA and CDC standards.
- We’re limiting the number of patients in the office at a time. To prevent patient-to-patient spread, we’re limiting the number of people in our office at once. This reduces your risk of exposure to the virus.
- We’ve ramped up cleaning between patients. We already cleaned thoroughly between patients, but we’ve added extra steps to ensure that surfaces and air are totally clean when you get into the chair.
- We’re using low-aerosol tooth-care methods. You may notice the tools are a little different on your next visit. For patient safety, we’re using cleaning methods that reduce the spread of aerosols so that, combined with our ventilation and filtration systems, you don’t have to worry about exposure while your mask is off for cleaning.
- We’re requiring all patients to mask and social distance. When you're in our office, we'll ask you to stay masked when you're not in the chair and to keep your distance from people not in your household. We want you to be safe!
- We’re screening patients for health issues both before their appointment day and at check-in. Worried that you might be sick or have been exposed? We’ll reschedule your appointment for after your quarantine or isolation period. If you’re not healthy, stay home, and protect the other patients!
